This year is about unlocking and unfolding the restrictions that begin outside of ourselves and ultimately reach our fingertips.

I mean this quite literally. If effortlessness grants me direct access to the nature of my surroundings, then expressing it directly and unfiltered becomes an obligation.

That is why I make a great effort to find effortlessness within myself.

This paradox may be reconciled.

I could call this my mission statement. But it’s not much different from simply doing what feels natural and makes sense. Don’t underestimate its difficulty. It is no different from drawing as a child. And I have never met a child who draws with the objective of selling it.
